New Delhi March 18 (Press Ki Taquat), External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar made a sharp attack on Rahul Gandhi’s comment about China during his session at the India Today Conclave. He said that Rahul Gandhi went to a foreign land and praised China and tried to belittle India. Describing Rahul Gandhi’s comments on China in Cambridge as politically motivated, he said that as an Indian, he is deeply hurt when someone praises China while denying India.
Jaishankar said, ‘When Rahul Gandhi was talking about China, you know, what word came to his mind? – ‘Harmony’. While praising China he was saying how China has become the biggest producer and this is also true. But when it comes to production in India, they tried to reduce it in every possible way. He said that Make in India has not been successful. Even when we made Covaxin, the Congress said that Make in India has not succeeded. Even when we created Covaxin, Congress said that Covaxin was not working.
Jaishankar said, ‘You can logically evaluate the progress of other countries, there is nothing wrong in that, but talk about the progress of any country by demeaning your own country… You say, we are from China. We are afraid.’
In his Cambridge speech, Rahul Gandhi praised China’s Belt and Road Initiative, to which Jaishankar said, ‘Rahul Gandhi said in his speech that China’s Belt and Road Initiative is progressing rapidly. This Chinese project passes through PoK. It attacks our national integrity and sovereignty, couldn’t Rahul have said anything about it?
