Patiala, 22-05-2023 (Press Ki Taquat)-Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh from Patiala’s Lakhriwala Chowk, YPS. He visited the cycling lane constructed from the square and appreciated the unique initiative taken by the district administration.

Dr. Emphasizing the importance of cycle lanes, Balbir Singh said that cyclists should have a separate space on the road so that they do not feel that any vehicle will harm them. He said that more such cycling tracks will be built in Patiala city so that more people, especially children, feel safe using these tracks while going to school and college.

He said that the cycling track will have many benefits, whoever goes on a bicycle will not only benefit but the city will also benefit, the traffic problem of the city will be solved and the cost of oil will also be reduced and the biggest benefit is the environment. will be of which will be less polluted. He appealed to the residents of Patiala to use the cycling track and said that feedback should be given in this regard by using it as much as possible so that necessary improvements can be made in it and work can be done to build new tracks.

Dr. Balbir Singh praised the policy of ‘right to walk’ implemented in Patiala district and said that it will provide a safe environment for pedestrians.

It may be mentioned that as a pilot project at Patiala, a first-of-its-kind cycling track with a length of 1.2 km road has been constructed from Lakhriwala Chowk to YPS. has been built up to the square.
