Less than a week after the Punjab government issued a notification dissolving all gram panchayats in the state, the Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued a notice to the Punjab government on a plea seeking quashing of the decision. The petition said that the notification of August 10 is completely illegal. A division bench of Justices Raj Mohan Singh and Harpreet Singh Brar posted the matter for further hearing on August 28.
