Chandigarh, March 13 (Press ki Taquat)- Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatreya today at Raj Bhavan, Chairman of Higher Education Council, Prof. B.K. Released a book titled “Media and Communication for a Developing Society” written by Kuthiala. He heartily congratulated Mr. Kuthiala for writing the book. While giving guidance, the Governor said that media plays an important role in making our developing society a developed society and now there has been a change from traditional media to social media. We are also facing a lot of challenges with this modern form of media. Researchers of mass communication should also do research on the use of social media by the masses so that it can be used positively for the society. While discussing the summary of the book, the Governor said that the media played an important role in India’s freedom struggle and in the reconstruction of the post-independence society. This book titled Media and Communication for a Developing Society presents the principles and practice of direct social communication and communication through various mediums for the development of the society. He said that the author of the book, Prof. Kuthiala has also discussed the research to be done in universities and commercial research organizations. Along with this, he has given a good description of the researches about the successes and failures of the media in India and other developing countries. During the release, the author of the book, Mr. Kuthiala, said that the book has also discussed a lot on opinion polls and exit polls and concluded that the failure of exit poll forecast is not the fault of the research, but the sampling method and the interviewer’s convenience. Deliberately adopting the method of using wrong questions leads to wrong inferences. The author has also presented a lot of text on the system of mass communication prevalent in ancient India to inform and educate the people. A chapter in the book deals with the after effect of public rallies by presenting the impact factor of the Ram Mandir and Mandal Commission rally held in Delhi. The Governor said that the book is relevant for students, teachers, practitioners and researchers in the field of mass communication and also in social and liberal studies. Along with this, he also released the book “Hansto Moti Chuge” by writer Mrs. Chandrakanta Agnihotri.
