Chandigarh (Sumit Joshi ) : Harvinder Singh’s remarkable poise and accuracy transformed aspirations into achievements as he made history by becoming India’s inaugural gold medalist in archery at the Paralympics on Wednesday. At 33 years old and currently pursuing a PhD in Economics, Harvinder, who previously faced defeat against Kevin Mather of the United States in the semifinals at Tokyo before claiming a bronze medal, exhibited remarkable resilience and composure. He demonstrated neither signs of exhaustion nor anxiety as he secured five consecutive victories in a single day, thereby earning his second consecutive medal at the Paralympics.
Harvinder becomes the first Indian archer to secure a gold medal at the Paralympics.
