The impact of the strict warning issued recently by Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini for the prompt resolution of public grievances has started showing results. Out of 2.83 lakh complaints received on the CM Window across various departments, 2.34 lakh have been resolved immediately. Similarly, out of 1,05,761 grievances received by the Chief Minister on social media, 83,550 have also been addressed. Expressing satisfaction over the swift redressal of grievances, Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini instructed officials to ensure the early resolution of the remaining cases as well.
The Chief Minister was presiding over a review meeting on Friday regarding the disposal of complaints received on the CM Window, Jan-Samvad, SMGT (Social Media Grievance Tracker), and Samadhan Camps. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Arun Gupta, OSD Dr. Raj Nehru, senior officers from all departments, and Deputy Commissioners of all districts via online mode.
Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini stated that CM Window, Jan-Samvad, SMGT, and Samadhan Camps are operated to resolve public grievances and issues on a priority basis. All complaints and grievances are forwarded to the concerned departments, with the expectation that they be resolved in a time-bound manner to provide relief to the public. For this reason, the progress on grievance redressal is reviewed periodically.
Regarding issues received on the CM Window, the concerned nodal officer informed that during the tenure of the current Chief Minister, 2.83 lakh complaints were received, out of which 2.34 lakh have been resolved. Among districts, Yamunanagar, Nuh, and Hansi performed remarkably well. Similarly, among departments, the Labour Department, Electronics and IT, Sainik and Ardh-Sainik Welfare Department, Health Department, and Employment Department achieved scores exceeding 80 percent. Expressing satisfaction, the Chief Minister directed that all districts must maintain a score above 70. He also issued necessary instructions for the speedy disposal of remaining cases and warned that action will be taken against those misusing the system by filing false complaints on the CM Window.
The nodal officer further shared that out of 1,05,761 grievances posted by the public via Twitter and other platforms on the Social Media Grievance Tracker, 83,550 have been resolved, while the process to resolve 33,783 complaints is ongoing. The Chief Minister directed that pendency be eliminated by swiftly resolving all social media complaints.
During the review of complaints received under Jan-Samvad, the Chief Minister stated that the government will formulate policy interventions for common, large-scale issues to provide broad relief to the public. He noted that a significant number of complaints pertained to corrections in Family IDs (Parivar Pehchan Patra). To address this, Additional Deputy Commissioners in all districts have been granted extensive powers (excluding income verification). Income verification for families will be carried out through panchayats in the presence of villagers during Gram Sabha meetings, ensuring that ineligible individuals do not take undue advantage and genuine beneficiaries are not left out.
The Chief Minister added that for providing housing and flats to eligible families, income and eligibility verification should also be conducted through Gram Panchayats, as local panchayats are fully aware of every individual’s actual status. This will ensure that housing benefits reach the truly needy. He instructed Deputy Commissioners to submit reports to the Chief Secretary regarding any lower-level officials who attempted to extend benefits to ineligible persons through incorrect verifications, so that strict action can be taken against them.
Shri Nayab Singh Saini emphasized that all Deputy Commissioners must follow up regularly on public grievances and submit Action Taken Reports (ATRs) to headquarters. If an officer fails to resolve an issue within the stipulated timeframe, action should be initiated. For complaints under Jan-Samvad that have remained pending for over a year, accountability of the concerned officers must be fixed. He directed departments with cases pending for over a year to work on the upcoming weekend holidays, resolve the matters, and submit a detailed report to the Chief Secretary by Monday. He added that if delays persist despite prior instructions and budget allocations, the concerned officers must submit a written explanation.
The Chief Minister directed that issues coming through Jan-Samvad be prioritized, with collective and community works being executed first. Basic public amenities such as drinking water, electricity, and sanitation in villages and cities must be addressed on priority. He issued instructions to all Deputy Commissioners and heads of departments to conduct weekly reviews of grievance redressal progress.
