Chandigarh, 02-06-2023 (Press Ki Taquat)- Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal said that Gurugram Jal Supply is an important project, which will provide uninterrupted better drinking water supply to the population of Gurugram and Manesar by 2050. Mewat Feeder Pipeline Project has also been prepared. These projects will cost Rs 2267 crore.
The Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting with officials of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department to approve the design of the remodeling of the Gurugram water supply. In the meeting, the concept of Mewat Feeder Pipeline Project was discussed in detail by giving a presentation. Meanwhile, GMDA Chief Executive Officer PC Meena participated online.
The Chief Minister said that by the year 2050, the Gurugram Water Supply Project worth around Rs 1,517 crore has been prepared keeping in mind the population of Gurugram, Manesar and Bahadurgarh. At that time, these cities will need about 1504 cusecs of water. The Gurugram water supply project will start from Kakaroi and end at Basai. About 69 km long water supply will be completely covered, using mild steel pipes. The project will be completed in May 2026.
