Chandigarh, March 17 (Press Ki Taquat)- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the government is taking steps to raise the banks of river Saraswati and prevent flood water from entering the nearby residential areas. Smooth flow of water is the priority of the government. If there is any obstruction in the flow of water, it will be rectified after getting it checked. The Chief Minister was speaking in reply to a question regarding the number of bridges constructed over the Saraswati River from Kurukshetra GT Road to Jhansa, filling of water in residential areas during the budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha today. Shri Manohar Lal said that most of the bridges built on Saraswati river from GT Road, Kurukshetra to Jhansa Road are illegal. Eight bridges were built before the year 2010. A bridge was built in the year 2014-15. These bridges were built only on the demand of the villagers. But now if there is any obstruction in the flow of water and flood situation arises in the area, it will be rectified and the demands of the villagers and public representatives will also be taken into consideration.
