Amritsar, April 5 (Press Ki Taquat)– The Excise and Taxation Department of Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh has recovered gold worth Rs 1.10 crore from two wealthy brothers of Amritsar. There was no bill for this 2 kg gold seized from them, due to which the department has taken action and collected a fine of 6.55 lakhs. Varun Katoch, a senior officer of the said Excise Department, says that he had received information about gold smuggling. When the investigation was started, around 2 kg of gold jewelery was recovered from the said persons.
