So that other flood prevention arrangements including cleaning of drains and strengthening of Ghaggar embankments can be completed before the rainy season.
Sakshi Sahni said that for the proper drainage of water, the cleaning work of village ponds should be done on time and the report in this regard should be submitted to DC. The officials were also instructed to identify the roads that are damaged during the rainy season and to prepare a report regarding alternative arrangements in case of road breakdown.
By de-silting Nabha Drain, Mohal Gawara, Rohti and Sirhind Chow, Bhagna Drain of Rajpura, Pachy Daran, Tangri River, strengthening the embankments of Markanda River, making another flood gate of Momia Drain and its resection, Patiala Ki Rao. , also ordered strengthening of three studs of Mahadaya Drain, Sirkappada Bridge and timely disposal of flood prevention works.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner received suggestions from the officials and said that while the crisis situation can be dealt with in a proper manner with the preparation done ahead of time, efficiency in the work also increases.
