People’s life was affected due to dense fog and cold wave in North India including Punjab, Haryana today. Due to dense fog, where people are facing difficulties while going out of their homes, the number of road accidents has also increased. Gurdaspur of Punjab and Hisar city of Haryana have been the coldest. The minimum temperature was recorded at 5.8 degrees Celsius in Gurdaspur and 5.4 degrees Celsius in Mahindergarh, which was one to two degrees below normal. Due to dense fog in Punjab, people stayed indoors till afternoon. Visibility also decreased due to dense fog. The fog has reduced by around 11-12 am. After that, the people breathed a sigh of relief as the moderate sun came out. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding dense fog for the next four days. Meteorologists say that there will be dense fog on December 26 and 27. The process of fog will continue on the next two days on December 28 and 29. Apart from this, light rain may occur in many areas of Punjab on December 30 and 31. The minimum temperature will drop by two to three degrees Celsius in the coming days in Punjab. According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature today in Punjab capital Chandigarh is 7.8 degrees Celsius, 7.2 degrees in Amritsar, 7.1 in Ludhiana, 8.7 in Patiala, 6.5 in Pathankot, 6.2 in Bathinda, 7.5 in Faridkot, 6.4 in Nawanshahr, Barnala recorded 9.2 degrees Celsius, Fatehgarh Sahib 10, Ferozepur 8.9 and Moga 8.6 degrees Celsius. The temperature was 1 to 4 degrees Celsius lower than normal. The minimum temperature in Haryana was 9 degrees Celsius in Ambala, 7.3 in Hisar, 7.8 in Karnal, 7.6 in Rohtak, 8 in Bhiwani, 9.2 in Sirsa, 7 in Fatiabad, 9.9 in Gurugram, 7.3 in Jhajjar, 7.3 in Jind, 7.3 in Panipat. 7, Yamunanagar recorded 7 and Sonepat recorded 7.9 degrees Celsius.
