New Delhi, 06-06-2023(Press Ki Taquat)- Delhi Police has intensified the proceedings in the case of sexual harassment against Wrestling Association President and BJP Member of Parliament Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. A team of Delhi Police reached Brijbhushan Singh’s house in Lucknow and Gonda on Monday night. The SIT has recorded statements of 12 people present at Jabhushan’s house.
Delhi Police has collected the names, addresses and identity cards of Brij Bhushan’s house and people working with him as evidence. However, after this inquiry the police team returned to Delhi.
Under the leadership of Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, all the wrestlers have opened a front against Wrestling Association President and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Wrestlers have accused Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment.
On April 21, seven female wrestlers filed a complaint against Brij Bhushan at the Connaught Place police station. On the basis of these complaints, on April 28, the Delhi Police registered two cases of sexual harassment against Brij Bhushan.
The first FIR is based on the ‘allegations’ brought by the minor. A case has been registered in this regard under the POCSO Act. Whereas, the second FIR pertains to allegations of sexual harassment leveled by other wrestlers. The investigation of these cases is going on by the police. Police has so far recorded statements of 137 people.
