New Delhi: In a significant enforcement initiative dubbed Operation Aaghat 3.0, the South East district of Delhi Police has successfully apprehended 350 individuals connected to various criminal activities in anticipation of the New Year 2026. This extensive operation yielded the recovery of a substantial cache of illegal items, including 21 country-made pistols, 20 live cartridges, and 27 knives. Additionally, authorities seized 12,258 quarters of illicit liquor and 6.01 kilograms of ganja. The operation also resulted in the confiscation of cash amounting to Rs 2,30,990 from gambling activities, alongside the seizure of 310 mobile phones, 231 two-wheelers, and one four-wheeler. Officials reported that the operation not only led to the arrest of numerous suspects but also facilitated the recovery of significant quantities of narcotics, illegal firearms, and stolen goods. The primary aim of this crackdown was to bolster law enforcement and enhance public safety within the district.
As part of Operation Aaghat 3.0, law enforcement officials arrested 285 individuals under various legal frameworks, including the Excise Act, the NDPS Act, and the Gambling Act. Furthermore, 504 individuals were detained for preventive measures, and 116 known offenders were apprehended. The operation also targeted property crimes, resulting in the arrest of 10 individuals involved in property offenses and 5 auto lifters, which led to crucial recoveries linked to theft cases. In a bid to further deter criminal activity, 1,306 individuals were rounded up for verification purposes. Senior officials emphasized that such rigorous operations will persist to ensure the safety of the public and uphold law and order in the South East district of the capital.
