The Enforcement Directorate has issued a summons to Mohammad Azharuddin, the former captain of the Indian cricket team and a current Congress politician, in connection with a money laundering investigation associated with purported financial misconduct within the Hyderabad Cricket Association, as reported by official sources on Thursday. The 61-year-old ex-Member of Parliament (MP) is required to appear before the federal agency at its office on October 3, according to the sources. This investigation pertains to alleged financial discrepancies within the Hyderabad Cricket Association, which prompted the ED to carry out searches in November of the previous year.
