A CCTV image depicting a terrorist dressed in a Pheran, who is allegedly linked to the Gagangir attack in Jammu and Kashmir, has surfaced; however, investigators have indicated that they have not yet confirmed whether this individual, armed with an AK rifle, was responsible for the assault that occurred on October 20, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals. The footage shows the suspect entering a prefabricated hut, which is believed to be located at the construction site of the Gagangir tunnel, where the tragic incident claimed the lives of seven people, including six non-local laborers, according to official sources.
Security personnel are currently working to verify the credibility of the image on multiple fronts, as indicated by the sources. The image is marked with a date stamp of ‘January 27’ in the upper right corner, which sources suggest may be attributed to a settings or technical malfunction. Additionally, the rifle carried by the suspect features a distinctive blue marking on the muzzle, a detail that has raised concerns. Reports suggest that such rifles have been utilized by terrorists in previous attacks against security forces in the Pir Panjal region, which is situated approximately 200 kilometers from the location of the recent attack.
