Minister’s Flying Squad conducts checking of state buses in Haryana

Buses plying on unscheduled route and standing at unauthorized Dhaba reported

Transport Minister directs authorities for disciplinary action against reported drivers and conductors

Chandigarh, July 7(Press Ki Taquat)

Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar today informed that under the campaign launched to curb wrongdoings in the state public bus service, two drivers pilfering 35 litres of diesel have been caught in two separate cases.

The Transport Minister said that the Minister’s Flying Squad conducted checking on state buses at various locations in Haryana. He said that Rajpal Singh, the driver of bus number PB-12Y 1540 of PUNBUS Depot Rupnagar, was caught red-handed pilfering around 20 litres of diesel during the checking at Sirsa Bus Stand at 10:30 PM last night.

Similarly, while checking in Bus Stand Hisar (Haryana), Lakhwinder Singh, the driver of bus number PB-04-AA 7459 of PUNBUS Depot Sri Muktsar Sahib was found to have pilfered about 15 litres of diesel.

The Cabinet Minister added that the Minister’s Flying Squad also found a bus plying on an unscheduled route. During the checking at Mullanpur Dakha, driver Baldev Singh and conductor Harpal Singh were caught diverting the bus from its scheduled route, causing financial loss to the department and inconveniencing the passengers. The Ferozepur Depot Bus No. PB-05-AB 5350 was being taken to the bridge instead of the designated area beneath the road of Mullanpur bus stand.

Furthermore, Bus No. PB-02-EG 9376 of Amritsar-2 depot was found parked at an unauthorized dhaba in Balachaur. Driver Ranjit Singh and conductor Jagjit Singh have been reported in this case.

  1. Laljit Singh Bhullar instructed the department officials to take appropriate disciplinary action against the drivers and conductors reported in these cases.
