Chandigarh, October 8 (Sumit Joshi ) : The contest for the Haryana Assembly seats has undergone a significant transformation, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) now appearing to be on the verge of achieving a remarkable third consecutive victory in the state. As of 11:14 AM, the BJP is in the lead, which has effectively dampened the celebratory atmosphere among Congress supporters who had gathered at their headquarters in New Delhi, where they had initially begun festivities, dancing to traditional dhol music in anticipation of a favorable outcome. Although exit polls had indicated a strong likelihood of a Congress victory, projecting around 55 seats—well above the necessary 45 for a majority—the BJP’s unexpectedly robust performance has altered the anticipated narrative. Initial forecasts had suggested that the BJP would secure only 26 seats, yet the party has managed to surpass these expectations, thereby challenging the earlier assessments. Haryana’s Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, conveyed his optimism regarding the BJP’s electoral prospects, stating, “We have made significant developmental strides over the last decade.
