Bhagat family are active leaders of BJP in the politics of Jalandhar West. Ch was at the forefront but BJP got a big shock as soon as he joined AAP. Mohinder Bhagat has held the post of chairman of Madhya Laghu Udyog and Bhagat family has contested the last 6 elections from Jalandhar West Constituency. Earlier, former Congress MLA of West Constituency Sushil Rinku, Deputy Mayor Harsimranjit Singh Bunty, Congress and BJP members. Many councilors, many big Akali leaders have joined AAP.
