Dambulla, July 18 (Ozi news desk):   The highly anticipated Women’s Asia Cup is poised to kick off with a thrilling match as the reigning champions, India, face off against their long-standing rivals, Pakistan, in a prime-time showdown. This event will feature eight competitive teams, all vying to solidify their lineups in preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup in October.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s India enters the tournament as the team to beat, having secured victory in three out of four previous editions of the Asia Cup in the T20 format, as well as claiming victory in all four 50-over format tournaments.

India has also established themselves as the most successful team in the Women’s Asia Cup T20, boasting an impressive record of 17 wins in 20 matches. Their triumph over Bangladesh in the final of the 2022 edition further solidified their dominance in the tournament.
