The Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, has taken his case to the Supreme Court in order to challenge the decision made by the Delhi High Court on June 21. This decision had put a hold on the trial court’s order that had granted him bail in the liquor policy case. Today, a vacation bench consisting of Justices Manoj Misra and SVN Bhatti will be presiding over the matter. On June 20, the trial judge had granted Kejriwal bail in the money laundering case, as they had formed an initial opinion that he was not guilty of the charges. However, the next day, the Enforcement Directorate filed an urgent petition in the Delhi High Court, contesting the bail order. The High Court assigned a single judge to hear the case on the same day. After thoroughly considering arguments from both sides, the judge reserved orders on the Enforcement Directorate’s application to suspend the bail order. Additionally, the High Court ruled that until the final decision is announced, the bail order will remain on hold.
