Patiala, 01-05-2023 (Press Ki Taquat)-During the current Hari season, 8 lakh 75 thousand 611 metric tons of wheat has arrived in 108 mandis established in Patiala district till yesterday. Giving information about this, Deputy Commissioner of the district Sakshi Sahni said that all the wheat reached in the markets has been purchased and the farmers have been paid Rs 1828.93 crore.
He said that so far 289374 metric tons of wheat has been purchased from Pangrain, 212007 metric tons from Markfed, 195615 metric tons from Pansap, 155845 metric tons from Warehouse and 22770 metric tons from Wavali. He said that the lifting work of the purchased wheat is also going on rapidly and so far more than 65 percent of wheat lifting has been done.
Sakshi Sahni appealed to the farmers and said that they should prefer not to burn crop residue but to mix the residue in the fields to increase the fertility of the fields. He said that for the safe future of our future generations, it is necessary that we strive together for the cleanliness of the environment and this can only be possible with the cooperation of all.
