  • Citizens to get over 40 services at their Doorstep soon, Says Governance Reforms Minister
  • Directs officials to ensure people shouldn’t face any hassle due to transition of Sewa Kendra operations to a new service operator

Chandigarh, November 22:

In a bid to ensure seamless services to the citizens of the state at their doorsteps as desired by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab Governance Reforms and Grievances Minister Mr Aman Arora reviewed the preparedness prior to the launch of the ambitious Doorstep Service Delivery (DSD) project in the state.

Chairing a high-level meeting at his office here, Mr. Aman Arora took a detailed review regarding the readiness of all activities related to the Doorstep Service Delivery with the senior officials of the Department of Governance Reforms (DGR) and the operator of the service.

The Doorstep Service Delivery (DSD) will be rolled out in the state soon, Mr Aman Arora said while adding that with the commencement of DSD, state citizens would be able to avail over 40 citizen-centric services at their doorsteps, which will be proven as the big facility for people as they will not have to visit any office for availing these services.

He further informed that the DSD aims to provide government services directly to citizens at their residences, ensuring transparency, convenience and accessibility. Citizens will be able to avail the services by dialling a dedicated helpline number and scheduling an appointment at their convenience. Specially trained staff will visit their homes at the scheduled time, and complete the necessary paperwork, collect fees, and deliver the final output, all within the comfort of the citizens’ premises, he added.

While reviewing the transition of Sewa Kendra operations to a new service operator, Mr Aman Arora said that the Punjab government has onboarded a new service operator to run Sewa Kendras, which are citizen service centres across the state. The new operator will commence operations soon. The Cabinet Minister emphasised that the transition of the operations to a new Service operator should not cause any inconvenience to the public.

Principal Secretary Governance Reforms Mr. Tejveer Singh, Director Mr. Girish Dayalan and representatives of M/s BLS Kendras Pvt. Ltd., M/s Dr. ITM and M/s Terracis Citizenservice LLP were also present in the meeting.
