Chandigarh, 24-03-23 (Press Ki Taquat): Fugitive heir Punjab leader and Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh is still out of the grip of the police. Now in connection with his absconding, the Punjab Police has arrested a woman named Baljit Kaur on Thursday. It is alleged that this woman had given shelter to Amritpal and his accomplice Papalpreet Singh at her house in Shahabad, Haryana. Police suspect that Amritpal may have also fled out of Punjab. Now the biggest question is who is Baljeet Kaur?
Baljeet Kaur, a resident of Shahbad’s Siddharth Colony, was allegedly in touch with Papalpreet Singh, Amritpal’s associate. Presently the police have taken him for questioning. Baljit Kaur told the police that Amritpal Singh along with another accomplice had reached his house in Kurukshetra district on a scooter. Baljit Kaur also told that Amritpal had changed clothes and was wearing a turban. He says that Amritpal had taken the auto from Hardy’s World area of Ludhiana.
Kurukshetra SP Surinder Singh Bhoria told PTI that we have arrested a woman named Baljit Kaur, who had allowed Amritpal and his accomplice Papalpreet Singh to stay at her house in Shahabad on Sunday. The woman has been handed over to the Punjab Police. After preliminary investigation, the police said that Baljit was in contact with Pappalpreet Singh for the last two years.
IGP Headquarters Sukhchain Singh Gill says that Amritpal stayed in Shahbad for two days. He used to use scooty to go from Ludhiana to Shahabad. Baljit Kaur’s brother told the police about sheltering Amritpal.
