The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) announced its inaugural list of 38 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections scheduled for November 20. Notably, Deputy Chief Minister and party leader Ajit Pawar has been selected to contest from the Baramati constituency located in Pune district. In a strategic move, the NCP has chosen to renominate 26 incumbent Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), including several ministers who aligned with Ajit Pawar upon his transition to the ruling coalition. Additionally, the party has included sitting legislators Sulbha Khodke from Amravati and Hiraman Khoskar from Igatpuri, both of whom recently defected from the Congress party. Furthermore, Bharat Gavit, the son of the late Congress stalwart Manikrao Gavit, has been nominated to represent the Navapur constituency.
