New Delhi, May 8 (Ozi news desk): Air India Express has faced significant disruptions with over 80 flight cancellations and numerous delays due to a portion of cabin crew members calling in sick to protest against the alleged mismanagement within the Tata Group-owned airline. The carrier, currently undergoing the merger process with AIX Connect, had planned to operate 360 daily flights for the summer schedule that commenced in late March. An Air India Express spokesperson mentioned that the airline is actively communicating with the cabin crew to comprehend the reasons behind their sick reports and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the flight disruptions. Reports indicate that more than 200 cabin crew members have participated in the protest, leading to the cancellation of numerous flights and delays across various airports, including Kochi, Calicut, and Bangalore. The sudden cancellations have caused chaos at some airports, including those with international flights, further aggravating the situation. The airline is working to address the issue promptly to minimize the impact on passengers, offering full refunds or rescheduling options to affected customers.
