Former Delhi Chief Minister and national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said Punjab has emerged as role model for the country by providing government job to youth in every village.
Addressing the gathering in a function to mark recruitment of 1746 constables in the Punjab Police, the former Delhi Chief Minister said that the state government has provided more than 48,000 jobs to youth in a free, fair and transparent manner. He said that due to this massive drive every village in Punjab now has atleast a government servant which is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction for all. Arvind Kejriwal said that this pace of giving government jobs to the youth will be further continued so as to make them an active part in socio economic progress of state.
Exhorting the youth to discharge their duty efficiently, the former Delhi Chief Minister said that it is matter of pride for all of them that they are becoming part of the most disciplined and decorated Punjab Police. He said that ever since the Aam Aadmi Party took office in Punjab, our mission has been to bring stability to the state, keeping our youth away from drugs, and opening up better employment opportunities for them adding that they are fully committed towards our goals. Arvind Kejriwal congratulated 1,205 candidates, out of the 1,746 new constables in Punjab Police, who received their appointment letters today.
The former Delhi Chief Minister said that Due to the model code of conduct in some districts and a few other reasons, the remaining letters couldn’t be issued yet but will follow soon. He said that Creating meaningful job opportunities for our youth is a top priority adding that Punjab Government is determined to recruit talented young individuals across different positions.Arvind Kejriwal said that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that all the jobs have been given in a free, fair and transparent manner.
The former Delhi Chief Minister said that at the time they had assumed office in Punjab law and order was at lowest ebb as gangsters and other anti social elements were flexing their muscles in state. However, he said that now Punjab has the best law and order situation in the country due to strenuous efforts of the state government. Arvind Kejriwal said that earlier the condition was deteriorating but now the things have changed and are moving in positive direction due to which Punjab is rapidly progressing.
The former Delhi Chief Minister said that Punjab will emerge as a role model in providing best law and order situation in the state for which a model will be introduced soon. He said that security of the residents in the topmost priority of any government and we are committed for this cause. Arvind Kejriwal said that the Punjab Police has been equipped with state of the art infrastructure and technology to secure interests of people.
The former Delhi Chief Minister said the best indicator for improving law and order situation in state is that investments worth more than Rs 60,000 crore have been roped in by the state government. He said that more than three lakh jobs will be generated through this investment which will give impetus to progress of the state and prosperity of people. Arvind Kejriwal said that other parties had taken 75 years to ruin the state but AAP government has taken massive steps in last 2.5 years to reconstruct it and efforts will continue in coming times too.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann urged the youth to work wholeheartedly for realising the aspirations of the martyrs of the country. He said that today is martyrdom day of legendary martyr Kartar Singh Sarabha, who had sacrificed his life at a young age for country, so all of us should work hard for cherishing their dreams. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it will be the befitting tribute to the great patriot who laid his life at the altar of motherland.
TheChief Minister said that Arvind Kejriwal is credited for bringing sectors like health, education, power, water and infrastructure at the centre stage of the national politics. He said that these sectors are top five priorities of his government and no stone is being left unturned for it.
Bhagwant Singh Mann said that while the other political parties have always pursued the agenda of hatred and divisiveness, Kejriwal had given new direction to politics by his vision.
The Chief Minister said that this vision has been duly incorporated by the state government to ensure the well being of the common man and the progress of the state. He said that apart from the guarantees given to the people of state during the run up for assembly polls in 2022, the state government has taken several other pro-people initiatives too. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state has witnessed a number of such events in which youth have got jobs in various government departments.
The Chief Minister said that this reflects the commitment of the state government to ensure the well being of youth and opening new avenues of employment for them. Bhagwant Mann said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction for him that till date more than 48,000 youth have been selected for these posts purely on the basis of merit.
Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now these youth have become integral part of the government adding that now should serve the people with missionary zeal.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that the new recruits will use their post for helping and serving the needy and underprivileged sections of society. He said that the newly recruited youth should ensure maximum welfare of the public so that every section of society is benefited from it. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that to enhance the efficiency of the Punjab Police the state government has decided to create 10,000 new posts in the force.
The Chief Minister said that it will help in checking the crime on one hand and create jobs for the youth in the coming days. He said that Punjab Police has been equipped with the best available technology to maintain law and order in the state adding that Sadak Surkhya Force launched by the state government is running successfully. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that ever since its launch the force has been able to reduce the death rate in the state due to road accidents by around 45%.
Earlier Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav welcomed the dignitaries during the function whereas Secretary Home Affairs Gurkirat Kirpal Singh proposed vote of thanks.
