The IAF reported that the Air Warriors bravely fought back against the attackers by returning fire. Unfortunately, five IAF personnel sustained bullet injuries during the exchange and were promptly evacuated to the nearest military hospital for urgent medical treatment. Tragically, one of the Air Warriors succumbed to his injuries later on, highlighting the grave consequences of the ambush.
Following the attack, an IAF spokesperson confirmed that the militants targeted an IAF vehicle convoy in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, specifically near Shahsitar.
