A man was apprehended in Amritsar for possessing 3 kilograms of heroin, as confirmed by a senior officer from the Punjab Police on Monday. The individual, identified as Balvir Singh, hails from Attari and was taken into custody by the Counter Intelligence unit of the Punjab Police, according to DGP Gaurav Yadav. In a statement shared on X, Yadav indicated that authorities are actively pursuing Harpreet Singh, a co-accused in the case, and are working to dismantle the broader network associated with smugglers operating from Pakistan. A formal case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at the State Special Operations Cell in Amritsar, highlighting the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
