A 30-year-old delivery man tragically lost his life while attempting to deliver an iPhone to a customer who was supposed to pay him Rs 1.5 lakh, according to police reports released on Monday. Authorities revealed that his body was discovered in the Indira Canal, prompting the involvement of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to assist in the recovery efforts. Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh provided details about the incident, explaining that the victim, Bharat Sahu, who resided in Nishatganj, had been dispatched to deliver the phone to a man named Gajanan from Chinhat, who had chosen the Cash on Delivery (COD) payment method for his order placed through Flipkart. On September 23, it is alleged that Gajanan, along with an accomplice, murdered Sahu by strangulation before concealing his body in a sack and disposing of it in the canal. Concerned for his safety after he failed to return home for two days, Sahu’s family filed a missing persons report at the Chinhat police station on September 25.
