The 55th session of the Punjab History Conference officially kicked off today at Punjabi University, focusing on the theme “Religions in Punjab: Spread and Influence.” This significant event is being organized by the university’s Department of History in collaboration with the Punjab Historical Studies department. The inaugural session was graced by the presence of Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, who served as the chief guest. In her keynote address, Dr. Kaur highlighted the profound impact of religion on the daily lives of individuals, particularly emphasizing the contributions of Sikhism. She noted that Guru Nanak Dev played a pivotal role in illuminating society by dispelling the shadows of superstition and ignorance, while also courageously confronting oppressive figures such as Babar, thereby standing in solidarity with the common people.
