Hoshiarpur, February 25 (ozi news desk): The goods train that had stopped at Kathua station in Jammu unexpectedly began moving towards Pathankot in Punjab without its driver, reaching a speed of over 100 km per hour before it was eventually brought to a stop near Ucchi Bassi in Mukerian.
Thankfully, no unfortunate incidents occurred as all gatekeepers were informed to close the level-crossings. The train’s engine was found to have one side turned off while the other side was still running. The driver had disembarked during the halt at Kathua station, but the train continued to travel for approximately 70 km before it was finally halted near Mukerian in Punjab.
Authorities have been notified and an investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the train’s unmanned departure and to identify any potential negligence.
