A marginal farmer from Bhikewala village in the Jind district tragically passed away after ingesting poison upon his arrival at a grain market in Uklana, located in the Hisar district, where he intended to buy DAP fertilizer. Jai Pal Singh, a former village sarpanch, reported that the deceased, identified as Rambhagat, had been experiencing significant stress due to inadequate agricultural yields. Rambhagat resided in a modest dwelling situated amidst his fields and is survived by his wife, two children, and three sisters. He had leased approximately five acres of land but had recently incurred substantial losses from his cotton crop. According to Jai Pal Singh, the farmer was compelled to plant wheat and had gone to the market specifically to acquire DAP, highlighting the financial strain he was under due to mounting debts.
