(Ozi news desk):

New Delhi: In a significant development, sources have revealed that the terror module associated with the recent car explosion in Delhi had broader intentions to target religious sites in Uttar Pradesh, specifically Ayodhya and Varanasi. The group reportedly planned a substantial attack in Ayodhya, where a sleeper cell had already been activated by Dr. Shaheen Shahid, one of the individuals apprehended. However, before these plans could materialize, a coordinated effort by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and local police resulted in a series of raids and arrests, leading to the seizure of explosive materials and the dismantling of the entire network.

Investigators are now considering the possibility that the recent explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort was not part of the original plan devised by the terror module. Initial assessments indicate that the explosive device did not have a timer or remote activation mechanism, which raises the likelihood that the blast was either accidental or the result of a rushed situation. Sources suggest that the suspects may have been in the process of transporting the explosives when the device detonated unexpectedly. The ongoing investigation has uncovered that the module was under significant pressure, likely exacerbated by recent police operations targeting similar groups across various states, which may have led to a state of panic among the suspects.

Furthermore, during the interrogation of the accused, it emerged that the terror network had intentions to target hospitals and other densely populated public spaces to maximize casualties. The suspects reportedly compiled a list of high-traffic locations, including healthcare facilities, which they planned to attack in the near future. In response, security agencies are meticulously analyzing communication records, digital footprints, and potential connections between this module and other terrorist organizations operating in northern India.

In a related incident, a powerful explosion occurred in a parked Hyundai i20 car near the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening, resulting in the tragic deaths of at least 12 individuals and injuring over 20 others, while also damaging several nearby vehicles. The blast ignited a fire that rapidly spread to adjacent cars, creating chaos in the vicinity of Gate Number 1 of the station. In light of this tragedy, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the families of each victim. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is currently investigating the incident, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah directing the agency to expedite its report on the matter.
