Jalandhar, May 5 (Ozi news desk): Jalandhar Congress candidate Charanjit Singh Channi has sparked a major controversy by suggesting that the recent attack on an Indian Air Force convoy in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir was a pre-election stunt orchestrated by the BJP. During his campaign in Jalandhar, Channi claimed that the BJP has a history of engaging in such stunts to secure victory in elections. He argued that these attacks are pre-planned and aimed at ensuring the party’s success. Channi’s remarks have drawn widespread criticism from BJP leaders, with some even labeling it as ‘treason’. Union Minister Anurag Thakur, who was present in Jalandhar, responded by accusing the Congress of weakening the armed forces and supporting the ‘tukde tukde gang’. He emphasized that the Modi government has taken strong actions, such as surgical and air strikes, to protect the nation. Thakur concluded that Channi’s comments reflect the Congress’ negative mentality and its efforts to undermine the defense forces.
