The Lok Sabha polls in Haryana witnessed a fierce battle for survival between the JJP and INLD parties.

Chandigarh, May 3 (Ozi news desk):  The regional outfits, JJP and INLD, are facing a challenging battle for survival in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Haryana. With the BJP and Congress dominating the political landscape in the state, the JJP and INLD are struggling to remain relevant. It would be an uphill task for these parties to secure a win in any of the 10 Lok Sabha seats and become the “kingmaker” in the government. Retaining their core vote bank, the Jats, will be a difficult feat for these regional outfits as the parliamentary elections focus on national issues. Prior to the split in the INLD, the party had a strong electoral record, consistently securing a significant percentage of votes in previous Lok Sabha elections. However, the post-split scenario in 2019 resulted in a significant decline in their performance, with the INLD receiving just 1.9% of the votes. The JJP also faced a similar setback, securing only 4.9% of the votes. Despite this, the JJP emerged as the kingmaker in the 2019 Assembly elections, winning 10 seats and forming a government through an alliance. However, the alliance broke off in March, leaving the JJP to fight alone in the Lok Sabha polls. Similarly, the INLD failed to forge an alliance and is also fighting alone.
