Chandigarh, February 29 (ozi news desk): The Haryana Vidhan Sabha has passed the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Travel Agents Bill, 2024, in an effort to combat fraudulent travel agents and the practice of ‘kabootarbazi’. The Bill includes strict punishments for offenders, such as imprisonment for up to 10 years, a penalty of up to Rs 5 lakh, and confiscation of their properties.
The aim of the Bill is to protect the innocent and unemployed youth of Haryana from falling into the traps of illegal immigration and to curb the illegal activities of unscrupulous travel agents. Minister Anil Vij emphasized the need to check and monitor the unlawful activities of these agents and provide appropriate punishment as per the law.
