Yesterday, the recently crafted idol of Lord Ram was reverently installed within the sacred walls of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple, in anticipation of the forthcoming ‘pran pratishtha’ or consecration ceremony scheduled for Monday. This morning, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje shared the first photograph of the idol, revealing a depiction of the deity as a five-year-old child standing gracefully.
Crafted by the skilled hands of artist Arun Yogiraj from Mysuru, the idol stands tall at 51 inches and is meticulously carved out of black stone, exuding an aura of divine elegance and reverence.
The process of consecrating the Ram Lalla idol in the sanctum sanctorum commenced on January 12, marking the beginning of the temple rituals. It has been confirmed that on January 22, Prime Minister Modi will personally conduct the puja for the “Pran Pratistha”. The main rituals of the Pran Prathistha will be performed by a group of priests led by Lakshmikant Dixit.
In preparation for his participation in the Ayodhya Ram Temple consecration ceremony, the Prime Minister is strictly adhering to a set of rules and rituals. Reports suggest that he is sleeping on the floor with only a blanket and consuming only coconut water. This demonstrates his dedication and commitment to the sacred event.
In a thoughtful gesture, the Prime Minister has requested the public not to visit Ayodhya on January 22, as he does not wish to cause any disruptions to Lord Ram. However, he has assured everyone that they are welcome to visit the temple starting from January 23. This considerate approach showcases his respect for the sanctity of the occasion and his desire to ensure a smooth and peaceful ceremony.
