Test: Australia beat Pakistan by 79 runs

Thanks to captain Pat Cummins’ ten wicket haul, Australia defeated Pakistan by 79 runs on the fourth day of the second Test cricket match here today. Cummins has achieved the feat of taking ten wickets in a match for the second time. With the help of his excellent bowling, the host team dismissed Pakistan for 237 runs. This was Pakistan’s 16th consecutive Test defeat in Australia. Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha put on a 67-run partnership to try to get back into the match but Cummins dashed all hopes. The ground umpire declared Rizwan not out but the third umpire ruled in favor of the bowler on Australia’s review and Rizwan had to go to the pavilion. At that time Pakistan’s score was 219 runs for five wickets. Cummins dismissed captain Shaan Masood (60) before the tea break. Aamir Jamal was his fourth wicket who could not even open the account. Cummins, who became the ‘Player of the Match’, also became the tenth Australian bowler to take 250 Test wickets. Australia won the first test by 360 runs. The third Test will be played in Sydney from January 3. Pakistan last won a Test in Australia in 1995.
