Under the able guidance of Ms Rupinderjit Chahal, Ld. District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, special medical camps were organized at Central Jail, Patiala, New District Jail, Nabha and Open Air Jail, Nabha in the month of September by District Legal Services Authority, Patiala in coordination with the office of the Civil Surgeon, Patiala and Jails Administration. In these camps, 434 jail inmates in Central Jail, Patiala were medically examined by Dr. Surinder Kumar, Ortho, Dr. Pargat Singh, Medicine, Dr. Kamaldeep Singh Eye, Dr. Amisha Sharma, Gynecologist , Dr. Loveleen Kaur, Skin and 115 jail inmates in New District Jail, Nabha and 15 jail inmates in Open Air Jail, Nabha were medically examined by Dr. Anumeha Bhalla, Medicine, Dr. Mandeep Singh Eye, Dr. Ekta, Gynecologist, Dr. Silky Singla, Skin, Dr. Prabh Simran and Sh. Bharat Bhushan, Pharmacy Officer. Necessary medicines were also provided to them. Apart from this, 30 pairs of spectacles were provided to needy jail inmates of New District Jail, Nabha by District Legal Services Authority, Patiala.
On this occasion, Ms Manni Arora, CJM-cum- Secretary, DLSA, Patiala revealed that such medical camps are organized in regular intervals in the jails of District Patiala for the betterment of physical and mental health of the inmates. Apart from this, Regular yoga and meditation Camps are also being organized in the Jails of District Patiala.
