शिरोमणि अकाली दल (बादल) के अध्यक्ष सुखबीर सिंह बादल अक्टूबर 2016 में हुई बहबल कलां गोलीबारी की घटना के सिलसिले में केस की जांच कर रहे विशेष जांच दल के समक्ष पंजाब पुलिस ऑफिसर्स इंस्टीट्यूट में पेश हुए।
सुखबीर बादल सुबह करीब 11 बजे अपने वकीलों की टीम के साथ पहुंचे। इसके अलावा शिरोमणि अकाली दल बादल के वरिष्ठ नेता भी मौजूद थे। पंजाब में आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) की सरकार बनने के बाद यह पहला मौका है जब एसआईटी ने पंजाब के पूर्व उपमुख्यमंत्री को सवालों के जवाब देने के लिए तलब किया है।
गौरतलब है कि सुखबीर बादल ने इससे पहले यह कहते हुए समन से छूट मांगी थी कि उन्हें किसी अन्य मामले में जीरा की अदालत में पेश होना है और वह इसकी जांच कर रहे विशेष जांच दल (एसआईटी) के समक्ष पेश नहीं हुए हैं।
