Fazilka, June 28 (Ozi news desk): In Punjab, the Fazilka police have successfully confiscated a significant amount of opium weighing 66 kg. This accomplishment came as a result of their diligent efforts in apprehending two individuals involved in the smuggling operation, who were transporting the illegal substance from Jharkhand.
DGP Gaurav Yadav, in a social media post on X, commended the Fazilka police for their remarkable achievement. He highlighted that this operation led to the dismantling of a major interstate opium smuggling syndicate originating from Jharkhand.
Additionally, the police meticulously traced the financial trail associated with this criminal network, resulting in the freezing of a staggering amount of Rs 1.86 crore across 42 bank accounts. The successful arrests and subsequent seizure of the opium and the financial assets demonstrate the effectiveness and dedication of the Fazilka police in combating drug trafficking.
