Governor Punjab and the Administrator U.T, Shri Banwarilal Purohit paid floral tribute to former Prime Minister of India late Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpai ji on his 97th birth anniversary.
In a simple but impressive ceremony organized at Punjab Raj Bhawan, Shri Purohit and the officials of Raj Bhawan paid tributes to the former PM.
Remembering Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpai ji on his birth anniversary, Governor said that he was a distinguished national leader, a politician par excellence, a selfless social worker, remarkable orator who set an example of good governance in India with politics based on ideological principles.
Throwing light on the life of Atal Bihari Vajpai, Purohit the beauty of his career was that in his political career spanning nearly fifty years, Vajpai ji had no bitter critics. He said that celebrating his birth anniversary as ‘Good Governance Day’ and re-dedicating ourselves to this cause is the true tribute to this great leader of the masses.
“Atal ji’s devotion and service to the nation will always be the center of inspiration for us; let us emulate his lifestyle and rise above petty politics to work for the betterment of our country and countrymen”, said Purohit.
