Patiala March 30,(Press Ki Taquat): The three-day drama fair dedicated to World Color Stage Day, organized by Department of Languages, Punjab, went beyond with the performance of Natakwala group’s play ‘Arbad Narbad Dhandukara’ touching the heights. On the last day, another play ‘Avesle Yudhan Di Nayaka’ was successfully presented by Almast Theater Group.

Under the supervision of Assistant Director Amarinder Singh and Surinder Kaur, before the last day’s dramas, Assistant Director Satnam Singh welcomed the guests and informed the guests and audience about the drama fair organized in connection with the 75th anniversary of the department. .

He said that there is a need for plays to be written and performed on topics like giving social equality to women, honoring the noble and the lowly. He said that theater is the mirror of society which has the ability to make society face every truth. He appreciated the initiatives taken by the Department of Language for the promotion of Punjabi mother tongue and promotion of theatre. Dr. Lakha Lahiri said that it is an auspicious omen that activities will be going on for almost the entire month of March in Punjab regarding the World Theater. These should be increased further and he appealed to the language department that the drama fair should be held every year.

On this occasion, Prof. Kavita Sharma and other Natakwala group under the direction of Rajesh Sharma. The play ‘Arbad Narbad Dhandukara’ written by Ajmer Aulakh was played. Which was the climax of the drama fair. This play, which talks about the issue of livelihood through the heroine of the love stories of the Punjabi region, gave rise to the struggle for rights. In this play, Narvinder played the role of Mirje, Aman played the role of Ranjhe, Lovepreet Kasiana played the role of Majnu, Gagan played the role of Frayad, Deep played the black robe, Abhi Raj played the role of Pannu and Shivam Sharma played the role of Indra. Another drama ‘Avesle Yudhoon Di Nayaka’ directed by Gurpragat Singh was presented well by Almast Theater Group. In this play raising voice against drugs, Gurpragat Singh played the central roles of the practical husband and Raj Shri played the central roles of the wife. Apart from this, Jagdish Kumar, Sandeep, Rasan, Sahib and Navneet also played important roles.
A large number of audience including District Language Officer Chandandeep Kaur, Assistant Director Satnam Singh, Alok Chawla, Tejinder Singh Gill, Sukhpreet Kaur, Amarinder Singh, Surinder Kaur, Jaspreet Kaur, colorist Vinod Kaushal were present on this occasion.
