The visit to France of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Ben Salmane ended on Tuesday, April 10, with the signing of 19 memoranda of understanding between French and Saudi companies, for a total value of over 18 billions of dollars (14.58 billion euros).
These letters of intent concern industrial sectors such as petrochemicals and water treatment, but also tourism, cultural activities, health and agriculture, according to a statement from the Franco-Saudi business forum, a conference of business leaders and representatives of both governments.
Total and Veolia among the beneficiaries
One of the most important agreements concerns the French Total and the Saudi Saudi Aramco, which intend to jointly develop a petrochemical site in Saudi Arabia. The giant of water and waste treatment Veolia is also one of the companies concerned.
Mohammed Ben Salmane spent two days in France for an official visit with a cultural and diplomatic content more than economic. The Elysee also announced that Emmanuel Macron would go to Saudi Arabia “at the end of the year”, this time to sign contracts.
