Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Nayab Singh Saini has issued strict directions to officials to ensure immediate lifting of paddy and bajra crops being purchased in the mandis of the state, so that farmers do not face any difficulty in selling their produce. The entire arrangement from purchase to lifting and payment in the mandis should function smoothly.<\/p>\n
The Chief Minister was chairing a meeting organized in Chandigarh on Wednesday to review the procurement process of Kharif crops. Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Mr. Vijendra Kumar, Principal Secretary of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Mrs. Amneet P. Kumar, along with senior officers of concerned departments were present in the meeting.<\/p>\n
In the meeting, officials informed the Chief Minister that under the ongoing Kharif crop procurement process in the state, 5 lakh quintals of paddy have been procured so far. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that along with the increase in arrival in mandis, lifting arrangements are also maintained at the same pace so that unnecessary stock does not accumulate in mandis and farmers face no difficulty in bringing their produce.<\/p>\n
The Chief Minister stated that the government will ensure Haryana farmers receive a Minimum Support Price (MSP) of \u20b92,900 per quintal for bajra this year. This year, procurement of bajra by the government will be done at the rate of \u20b92,300 per quintal. If a farmer gets a price higher than \u20b92,300 per quintal in the open market, the difference between the selling price and the MSP of \u20b92,900 will be compensated by the government under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana. The government will provide a benefit of \u20b9600 per quintal to farmers under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana. It was informed in the meeting that this year, bajra is selling at an average rate of around \u20b92,235 per quintal in the open market. Additionally, procurement of bajra is also being done by private dealers.<\/p>\n
Officials informed during the meeting that last year, the government initially fixed \u20b92,150 and later \u20b92,200 per quintal for bajra procurement. The difference between the purchase price fixed by the government and commission agents (arhtiyas) and the MSP of \u20b92,900 per quintal was compensated separately by the government.<\/p>\n
The Chief Minister directed Administrative Secretaries to personally visit mandis to review the ground situation of procurement, lifting, and facilities for farmers, and submit a report to the government. Senior officials should visit mandis to monitor the ground reality of arrangements. Additionally, HCS-level officers have been appointed in each mandi to streamline the procurement process.<\/p>\n
The Chief Minister mentioned that a team of department officials has been constituted regarding rice millers holding remaining paddy purchased last year. An amount of \u20b92,777 per quintal has been fixed for the convenience of traders.<\/p>\n
Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Yashpal, MD Hafed Chandrashekhar Khare, Director Food and Supplies Dr. Anshaj Singh, and several other senior officials were present in the meeting.<\/p>\n

Chandigarh, October 7 \u2014<\/b> Special Officer (Grievances & Redressal) to Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhopal Singh Khaddri, chaired a review meeting of nodal officers regarding issues received on CM Window and Jan Samvad related to the Women and Child Development Department and Sports Department. In the meeting, he instructed officials to work promptly on resolving these grievances so that people can receive timely benefits.<\/p>\n
He stated that Chief Minister Mr. Nayab Singh Saini is personally monitoring and supervising grievances coming through CM Window and Jan Samvad. Therefore, officials should handle such grievances with seriousness and ensure their Action Taken Reports (ATR) are filed within the stipulated timeframe so that grievances do not remain pending on the portal.<\/p>\n
Reviewing issues related to the Sports Department, Mr. Bhopal Singh Khaddri spoke directly over the phone with concerned officials and complainants to gather detailed information. A request for issuing a gradation certificate was made by Shamsher Singh of Ambala. While the department issued certificates to 5 other players at the same time, Shamsher Singh was not issued a gradation certificate. During the phone inquiry, the Special Officer was informed that negligence was shown by concerned officers in his case.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that further action should also be taken regarding the Harihar Yojana implemented by the government. Harihar Yojana is a unique and compassionate initiative of the Haryana Government, launched for the rehabilitation, education, and employment of destitute, orphaned, and surrendered children. Under this scheme, apart from assistance to children above 18 years of age, provision has been made to give priority in Group C and Group D jobs. It is being ensured that eligible youth get the benefits of this scheme so that no youth is deprived.<\/p>\n
He noted that commendable work is being done in many instances within the Sports Department and other departments. Therefore, nodal officers performing well will be awarded appreciation certificates by the Chief Minister. He directed officials to work on sports scholarship cases as well so that no player’s scholarship remains pending. He also directed quick redressal of the CM Window complaint regarding Motilal Nehru School.<\/p>\n
Taking note of cash awards and other assistance for players who won gold medals in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Mr. Khaddri stated that the matter will soon be discussed with the Chief Minister for resolution.<\/p>\n
He instructed nodal officers that complaints left unresolved before this meeting must be disposed of before the next meeting, which will be organized in two weeks.<\/p>\n
