{"id":62139,"date":"2025-07-24T13:06:34","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T07:36:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ozinews.in\/english\/?p=62139"},"modified":"2025-07-24T13:06:34","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T07:36:34","slug":"parliament-monsoon-session-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ozinews.in\/english\/parliament-monsoon-session-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Parliament Monsoon Session Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The proceedings of Lok Sabha as well as Rajya Sabha have been adjourned and will meet again at 2:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2:00 pm after opposition disrupted proceedings demanding discussion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.<\/p>\n<p>Lok Sabha was also adjourned till 2:00 PM amid chaos over Bihar roll revision issue by opposition MPs.<\/p>\n<p>Congress MP Manickam Tagore on Thursday submitted an Adjournment Motion seeking discussion on the SIR of electoral rolls in Bihar being conducted by the Election Commission of India.<\/p>\n<p data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">In his notice,\u00a0Tagore\u00a0highlighted the exercise as an &#8220;act of mass disenfranchisement&#8221; which was nothing short of &#8220;institutional voter cleansing&#8221; orchestrated under the Modi Government.<\/p>\n<p>Tagore\u00a0further in his letter highlighted the SIR exercise as an attack on the legacy of Babasaheb BR Ambedkar, who &#8220;enshrined&#8221; universal adult franchise in the Constitution to empower citizens, irrespective of their caste, class or wealth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The proceedings of Lok Sabha as well as Rajya Sabha have been adjourned and will meet again at 2:00 pm.
