With the press sewa portal of Registrar of Newspapers of India going online, Newspaper owners will now be saved from the hassles of government offices and time will also be saved. Earlier, under the Press Book and Registration Act 1860, all the work from new registration of newspaper to closure used to take months and years from SDM office to RNI office Delhi, but now under the Press Book and Registration Act 2023, the rules and regulations have been made very easy. National President of Small Newspaper Publishers Association, Shiv Narayan Jangra said that Now all the work from new registration to closure for newspaper owners is being done online, which has brought transparency and ease in work. Now we can do all the work online itself and we can also see which officer has kept the file on hold. At the same time, under the new Press and Magazine Registration Act 2023, every officer will have to take out the file online within 60 days, otherwise it will automatically go to the higher officer.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 National President Shiv Narayan Jangra said that the Press and Magazine Registration Act 1860 was prepared by the British according to themselves and the process of registration of newspapers in it was too complicated. But now the new Act of Press and Magazine Registration Act 2023 is in line with the goals of Digital India and it will ensure simple, fast, transparent online processes and compliance.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0The office bearers of Small Newspaper Publishers Association Regd. discussed in detail the issues being faced by Press Registrar General of India Yogesh Kumar Baweja for the Workshop organized for newspapers and magazines of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Chandigarh.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Press Registrar Yogesh Baweja hoped that this meeting will prove beneficial for all newspaper owners of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal. As the launch of Press Seva Portal is an important step towards modernizing and streamlining the processes related to registration and regulation of newspapers and magazines.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 Yogesh Baweja said that this Digital Platform will embody the spirit of \u2018Minimum Government, Maximum Governance\u2019 and will reflect our commitment to leverage technology to better serve the press community.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On this occasion National President of Small Newspaper Publishers Association Registered Shiv Narayan Jangra, Vice President Abdul Kalam, Chhatarpal Singh, Ashok Verma, General Secretary Vipan Kumar honoured Press Registrar General of India Yogesh Baveja and Additional Director General of Press Information Bureau Chandigarh Vivek Vaibhav by giving them Mementoes.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 On this occasion, other officials of the association Tejinder Singh, Jagdish Goyal, Amarjit Singh Lamba, Satish Kumar, Ravel Singh Rana, Gurpreet Chaudhary, Mamun Rashid, Gopal were present.<\/p>\n
