Chandigarh, June 24 (Ozi news desk):\u00a0<\/strong> Following the recent decision by the Supreme Court to uphold the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s order, which invalidated the Haryana Government’s policy of granting additional marks to its residents in recruitment exams for government jobs, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has expressed his determination to take action. In a press conference, CM Saini stated that his government is considering two options: filing a review petition in the apex court or introducing a Bill in the Vidhan Sabha. He emphasized that while they respect the Supreme Court’s verdict, the BJP government had initiated the scheme in 2018 to provide additional marks to candidates from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. CM Saini further highlighted that their socio-economic policy is rooted in the principle of ‘antyodaya’ and that they are committed to fighting for the rights of the poor. If necessary, they are prepared to introduce a Bill in the Vidhan Sabha to address this matter.
