{"id":50668,"date":"2023-10-28T17:53:57","date_gmt":"2023-10-28T12:23:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presskitaquat.com\/english\/?p=50668"},"modified":"2024-01-30T22:59:43","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T17:29:43","slug":"ed-arrests-2-promoters-of-chandigarh-based-pharma-company-ca-in-money-laundering-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ozinews.in\/english\/ed-arrests-2-promoters-of-chandigarh-based-pharma-company-ca-in-money-laundering-case\/","title":{"rendered":"ED arrests 2 promoters of Chandigarh-based pharma company, CA in money laundering case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>New Delhi, October 28\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday arrested two promoters of Chandigarh-based pharma company Parabolic Drugs and a company CA in a money laundering investigation linked to an alleged bank fraud, official sources said.<\/p>\n<p>Parabolic promoters Vineet Gupta and Pranav Gupta and Chartered Accountant S K Bansal were taken into custody under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), they said.<\/p>\n<p>The money laundering case stems from a CBI FIR in which the promoters and the pharma company were booked for allegedly defrauding a consortium led by Central Bank of India of Rs 1626.74 crore.<\/p>\n<p>The Guptas are the co-founders of Sonepat-based Ashoka University but had stepped down from their posts in 2022 at the educational institution after the CBI registered a case against them and the company in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The three are expected to be produced before a special PMLA court in Chandigarh where the ED will seek their custody.<\/p>\n<div id=\"ads-3\" class=\"horizontal-ads\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1603703616686-0\">\n<div id=\"aff271farnhjyggafcxgokk_div-gpt-ad-1603703616686-0\" data-google-query-id=\"CLCdyrvdmIIDFT1anQkd0GENhg\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi, October 28\u00a0 The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday arrested two promoters of Chandigarh-based pharma company Parabolic Drugs and a company CA in a money laundering investigation linked to an alleged bank fraud, official sources said.
