Chandigarh, May 25 (Ozi news desk): The upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in the country could potentially witness a significant shift in the political landscape if the Congress manages to outperform its 2019 performance. This is particularly crucial given that in the previous elections, the Congress had a dismal showing with almost no seats secured out of the 58 contested on Saturday.
One of the key areas of interest would be whether the grand old party can make inroads and turn the tide in certain constituencies, with a special focus on regions like Haryana. The Phase-6 constituencies that went to polls on Saturday encompass states such as Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, where the BJP-led NDA and regional parties like Biju Janata Dal and Trinamool Congress had a stronghold in the 2019 elections.
For instance, in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP emerged victorious in the majority of the 14 seats that were contested in the recent polling, securing key constituencies like Sultanpur, Allahabad, Shrawasti, Domariyaganj, Azamgarh, and Bhadohi. The outcome of these elections will be closely monitored to gauge the Congress party’s performance and its potential to make a comeback in the political arena.
